This hasnt presented a problem, no vibration or noise but the upfitter console area (upfitters, sunglasses holder, interior lights area) in the headliner is loose/free-floating. Anyone else experience this? For example, if you switch on an upfitter, its like the whole area isnt bolted down and moves about freely.

This topic came up on here a little while back. So a couple weeks ago I was at the dealer, my wife and I were checking out a bunch of various trim level SD's that were all lined up on the lot, and I started poking at the overhead consoles. I found that about half of them were loose to the point that they seemed like they were just floating with the headliner. It seemed to me that the small consoles w/o upfitter switches were the loose ones, and the larger consoles w/ upfitters and power slider switch were the solid ones. Clearly the OP here threw a wrench in my research, but my point is that a lot of them are loose from the factory IMO.

Interesting.
Here is a quick video I put up on YouTube. Seems like its just not attached to anything.
There are some guys on here that have removed the overhead console for the install of accessories. Hopefully someone will speak up with what they found up there, and what holds that on.

Mine is just like in the video, sort of free floating. I will ask the dealer about it the next time I there as I thought it was a bit strange that it was rather loose.
There are magnets that hold the headliner in and clips that hold the upper console to the headliner either the console isn't fully clicked in or the magnets have not clicked uptop
Thanks for the response. I will try to put pressure on it and see if I can get clips to set.

Mine is the same as in the video. to be honest i just figured that's how they were. These trucks need to have some kind of flaw. LOL
Mine is going to dealer tomorrow for remote start add on and decal removal that they owe me from purchase deal. I will report back with what we find on Friday when I pick up.
