me grandpa left me a 1970 f250 custome 4x2. I am wondering if i can put my body on a 1976 f150 4x4. will the frames match up????? the 1970 is an automatic c6 tranny with a original 360 that has water in the oil. the 76 i plan on buying has a smashed body. I want the new 390 and the 4x4 off of it. i looked at my frame on the 2x4 and it looks like it has all the holes to bolt everything on. i would rather do that than pull the body's off.

Sonny, Don't cut up Grandpa's truck. Find out why there is water in the oil and fix it. Buy the 76 4x4 and find a 76 body in the junk yard and swap everything over. Better, find another 76 4x4 and build one truck from the two and sell the extra parts. Keep the 1970 truck as a 4x2 and later when you are over this 4x4 stuff you can restore it. A nice 30 year old truck with a documented history is well worth keeping.

Yeah, really dude, don't mess up your pop's truck. Fix it up and restore it if anything. Unless you didn't like him.
