Question danny

I have a 97 ford f150- everytime i go to stop at a red light or stop sign or even just put it in park it starts ideling very rough like it wants to turn off. I have replaced fuel filter, and o2 sensor,any ideas what this could be?

I bet that it is the IAC that is bad

I got my new one from autozone, which they had instock. It has a little over $42.00 dollars. I called checker auto parts too and they said they will have to order it, will take 7-10 bussiness days and cost $95.00!!!! So make sure you call around first. You can also get it from ford, but it will be a bit higher, I think about $60.00 dollars

I would also try cleaning the MAF and checking the PCV hose assembly for cracking. Especially the elbow where it goes into the rear of the intake manifold. It could just be running too lean. Has the check engine light come on?

yeah the check engine light has come on.. My truck is only 6months away from being paid off and id like to hang on to it. THe code the machine gave us was p0171 thanks

yeah definitly check your intake hoses and IAC. Had same issue on my truck. One of the intake hoses was unplugged and was getting code system to lean......goodluck bud!
