In-dash 6 disc player - All Shuffle?

Newbie here. Traded in my 00 F150 for a 06 Lariat SCrew (kids too big for the old jump seat) and have a question. From the looks of the manual and playing around with the buttons, it appears that the CD player will only shuffle tracks on a single disc, not across all discs in the player. Am I correct?

If I am correct, I must say that is one of the most stupid things I have seen. I never even thought to ask the dealer about the shuffle feature. Why have a multi-disc player if you can't shuffle across all tracks?

Nope! It shuffles and plays all the songs a cd, then shuffles the cds and shuffles and plays all the songs on the next cd. I have 4 loaded right now and its great

Just think about the time between songs if it had to reload a cd every song or 2? Not to mentionwear and tear on the cheapy plastic components in it

Franken-Truck is correct...same CD player in my wifes Navigator....It would be too time consuming and demanding on the components of the CD player to constantly shuffle between all CDs after the playing of just one track.

Thanks for the repsonses. It makes sense from a mechanical standpoint. I know what you mean about the cheapie plastic components. The loading/unloading process takes a long time and the motor sounds don't instill confidence. Having said that, I still don't see any real benefit of shuffle on their multidisc player. All it does is save me the hassle of swapping CDs every 45 minutes to an hour. More reason to get an MP3 player and use it for shuffling!

(As I understand it, older Ford underseat or trunk mounted changers did shuffle across all CDs. That is what I expected. Bummer, but still love the truck)
