I own a april 03 350 crummy,

I have posted many times with very little reply/help over the last few years, it seems to me that the postings of the past year have very little relivence to to the old problems of the past. That would leave me to believe the 6.0 turned out to be as fine of an engine as I hoped to have purchased. A few quirkes, but a great towing machine. (45,000 miles) The original crew have left, due to lets say people that argue alot. I have watched the 6.0 forum for many years and would finally say, what a sorry gosip room. Nothing new same old story. How many problems have come up, with no reply, and the next post is " who's turbo is the loudest." Which gets multiple posts.

Thanks

Rob

Your right... people come and go every day and the "flavor of FTE" and other forum sites changes. Your right, some threads are stupid and others are very informative and some are just funny and humerous.

As new forum users join, they ask questions relevant to them without knowing that they may have been asked 1 year ago, 6 months ago, or just 2 days ago. All I can say is ignore the threads you dislike and either ask questions that are of general interest or in a way that people want to help, or can help?

Not sure why your posts or threads did not receive the replys you had hoped for, but as new people and techs join, you may get lucky.

What specific issues of the 6.0L motor would you like answered?

Jeff

If you had read my post (with the title of "who's turbo is the loudest"), you would have seen that the intent of that post was to find out if an aftermarket intake makes a substantial difference over a stock intake on the sound that the turbo makes.
My interest (maybe not yours- but mine) is to find out if an aftermarket intake will really make a difference regarding that- or not.

Not to "gossip" about who has the loudest turbo..

The glass is always half empty to guys like you...

What make you think this forum OWES you something?
Do you really think all questions are going to be answered?
This is a discussion forum.
Not everything is so cut and dry.

Well I'll add my post to the gossip atmosphere.

I look at FTE for what I THINK it really is: a place for help, a place for fun, a place for conversation, a place to meet other people and a place to escape the daily grind.

When I have a problem I post it. If I got no replies I would assume that no one knew the answer to my question not that no one cared.
I would find it hard to believe that the folks here on FTE would purposly ignore a question they knew the answer to. How much sense does that make?

When I have a funny story I post it. Maybe someone else will get a chuckle out of it if even for a minute. Maybe like Ivan's post about the bible it will stir up 8 pages of conversation where people can debate a worthy topic.

Maybe like the folks in the NW chapter (and I am sure some others but they come to mind) this forum will help them develop friendships that will last for a long time.

Maybe someone may have what other consider a stupid question Like my oil leak post a few weeks ago. I am sure that some here thought "great another stupid oil leak thread. what kind idiot is cafordude that he can't search through past posts" so rather then respond with a rude comment they choose to ignore the thread.

Maybe the attitude of FTE has changed as there are a lot of people that have been a member longer then I, but when FTE started wasn't it ALL about the tech, little more then a mailing list? And now look at it's size. With growth comes change, sometimes good and sometimes bad.

I have found this a great place to get answers. The moderators also do a great job. I don't see what there is to complain about. Everyone is entitled to start a topic of interest to them.

In before the LOCK.

Also, my normal problem posts have been answered well. Even the ones i expect no one to know the answer to get answered, even if its nothing more than a "PM this guy, he may know". Im pleased.

I totally agree with you, cafordude. This site has been really helpful to me, even when I didn't contribute for a few months. When I have an issue I ask and I get answers, not always what I want to hear but always helpful

To be blunt, I scratch my head at the 6.0 forum on this board sometimes but I still swing by and see if there's anything of importance to me. A lot of times there isn't but often there is.

I'm thankfull to the FTE site as I bought my truck through PolarBear at Suburban OR. If it wasn't for this site I'd have never even known about them. I'm also thankfull to the guys on the V10 forum as they really helped me decide on which Ford truck would best suit my situation. I haven't had ANY problems with my 6.0 so I can't really comment on the response time for a 6.0 issue. Like most social envioronments in life there's always a handfull of folks that make it happen, this forum is no different, the key is just finding out who the knowledgable players are and weeding out the rest.

I will say again though, this particular 6.0 forum is a little bizarre at times....doesn't mean it's a bad place, just different then other forums I frequent or the Dodge forums I used to frequent before I had my ford.

Ironic, don't you think...this thread would have already been moved, locked, and or deleted anywhere else.

I have reviewed many of reel_scream's 57 posts. Many questions were answered, some were not. As with many users, a forum search could have provided much of the information they were seeking.

Some questions / topics beg to remain unanswered. In some cases the posters that usually answer just get tired of repeating themselves and leave it some one else.

I have seen instances where a poster posts his question on Friday evening with no response due to low weekend board traffic. I try to capture those and bump them back to the top...when I remember.

Sometimes it is just plain hard to figure out if someone is soliciting answers to real problems or if they are just stirring the pot. Especially when one sentence shares how happy they are with their 6.0 and another declares it is crummy.

reel_scream, In almost 2.5 years and 57 posts...I wonder how many people you have assisted...with the vast knowledge that you have surely gained here at FTE?

BTW: In regards to the original crew that have left, some don't even own a 6.0 anymore. Or even a Ford for that matter. Some I am still in communication with some as we have become...at very least....Good acquaintances. One of the "old crew" that has left us. Dove hunts with me at my property each dove season.
We will let this thread run it's course until I determine that it is...too lame... to remain here.

An unanswered post is better than responses with incorrect information.

I understand the frustration. When I first signed on, I thought FTE was very disrespectful compared to the guys at chevy truck world. But, you learn to deal with salty posters pretty quickly who are pretty abusive with the "Do a search" line. It's a forum culture and it sure does change over time. While some have left others have started to shine in their absence. BFR250, Maximum4x4, ryaneverk2, Bigf350 and many others I probably forgot.

Hopefully Matt will stay.

I'd like to know what BigHoss550, sbv45, abendx, and choctawbob have been up to.

Haven't heard from BigHoss550 or abendx in a while myself.

sbv45 Changed jobs, sold his 6.0 and bought an Xterra.

choctawbob sold his 6.0, drives a Cherokee and hunts with me when he can.
