BRAKES!!!!! Help

2003 f-150 FX4...driver's side rear brake problems. Occasionaly a banging noise, some resistance noticed, HOT HOT HOT rotor spit sizzles on it, thought I even saw the caliper move when truck was put in reverse. Murphy's law was applied when two weeks ago I had a mechanic drive it and nothing happened. Now it seems the problem is worse after going into reverse for about 15 feet then drive. Is the caliper sticking???? Emergency brake cable bad??? Input please....4 wheel discs just in case the caliper thing didn't give it away.

Check the emergency brake shoes under the rotor. When my shoes came apart it sounded like a bearing went out in the rearend and the rotor was very hot

Get under the the truck and look where the emer bra. cable attaches to the lever for the brake, the lever should be in the fully back(towards the rear of the truck) position, if not it is dragging. Take a hammer and a blunt end punch or rod and hit it back into a released position( towards the rear of the truck). Then don't use the em brake ever again or fix it every year. Without consistant use, they freeze up on this truck.
