Hello, a while back i posted about my electronic 4x4 not working in my 1995 f-150. Ive narrowed the problem down and am pretty sure its in the module behind the passenger side kick panel. There is currently a few identical modules from 1991 ford explorers on ebay for pretty reasonable prices. The difference is the color and one digit of the part number is different. does anybody know if they will work in place my original module? (part #F1TB-7E353-AA to #F17B-7E453-AA)
Also, what transfer case was used in the 1991 explorer? I figure if it was the bw1356 like whats in my truck, this module might be just fine.
we have bought an explorer from 93 and we stripped a lot of cables, because we want to use the chassis for a rally. Before stripping the 4x4 worked, but not after. We did not strip the cables from F17B-7E453-AA, we have done the test and the light was flashing. The module into the dashboard wont light, but it does make al little noise when we push the button. Back-drive does work. What else can we test? Does it make a difference that we picked of all the wheels? (sensor?)
Lol well why bother stripping the harnesses out? They don't add that much weight. Go back and plug things in til you get it to work again... unless you cut the harnesses out...
