I have a 352 engine.How solid is this engine?Are there any major problems that ocur with it?What about gas,is it a gas-hog?It is hooked up to a c-6 trans.Any info will help.:-X12
I had a 1970 F250 with a 352 out of a 63 station wagon that had been used in a Demo Derby. Who knows how many mile it had on it? I hauled tons and tons of gravel in that truck when I built my home. (the record was an even 3 tons on one load) The engine never wimpered. If I got it stuck I would redline it getting it out. That was 5 yrs ago and I still see the truck running around town. I don't think you could destroy that motor if you tried.
The 352, like all of the FE series engines, is tough as nails. Makes decent HP for its era/application, better torque, and will run forever with a minimal amount of maintenance.
It's no hot-rod, but if you're looking for a good, solid engine that will do all you ask of it, the 352 is a good one to have.
I hada 352 in my '65 and it was a hot rod. The only thing I did to it was to put a new Holley 2 bbl. and a new air cleaner. I think it had 4.11 gears, so that helps. I had it for two years with nary a problem.
