egr removal?

i'm going to be fabbing up a dual exhaust for my 90 f150 5L and was wondering if there is any way of removing the egr all together. i ask because with the new system i might have to weld the egr tube onto the header, and i'm also throwing a 33 code. the egr its self is quite new so insted of farting around with this problem, i am wondering if i can remove it all together and "trick" my ecu into thinking everything is working fine so i don't get a check engine light. there is no emission testing where i live so don't need replies telling me that i won't pass a smog test, i just need everything to run good with no negative effects on the motor. thanks for all the info.

I put true dual straight pipes and headers on my 89 302, and I just removed the egr tube behind the heads, as well as removing the belt driven air pump and hoses. The egr itself is still on the intake manifold, i tried to take it off and it didint like it. I havent ever gotten a light or had issues as long as the egr itself was still connected
