Rememeber that South American player that accidentally knocked in a goal in his teams net, against the U.S. several years ago?

Wasn't he shot dead when he returned home?

Yeah, it was a Colombian defender. Apparently the attacker shot nearly a dozen bullets at him, and witnesses said he was shouting "goal" for each one of the shots. Happened during the 1994 World Cup. The attacker was sentenced to 43 years in jail, but was released last year after serving 11 years.

Maybe because we have a variety of professional sports here.

So much to choose from.

i was in sweden and denmark during 2002 world cup, it was a great time, everyone there was really into there teams winning, like one big party. it was the first time i ever watched soccer.

at the roskilde festival, they played the final with germany vs brazil, got to be in the middle of thousands of drunk germans when they lost, but no violence, just alot of "dissapointed" germans.

i wanted to be in germany this year for it, to bad everything in the world has to happen to prevent me from doing so, oh well, next time!

And almost time for NO SLEEP... Pity it has to fall in exam times... oh well, subjects are unimportant

Oh - and for those that don't "get it"... I think all you need to do is go to England and watch Arsenal vs. Man U at Old Trafford in front of 70,000 screaming lunatic poms. The atmosphere is beyond electric.
If you don't "get it" then... I will eat my hat.

Yeah, soccer's for communists and third world countries... go ahead, yell at me. I get yelled at all of the time by the goofy soccer players on campus for sayin it. Have you all ever met some people that are really into it? It's like a way of live, and they all have goofy facial hair and mops on thier head. I don't get it...
