for a good six volt batt interstate has a group three batt tha is 700 cold cranking amp it works good in a old 54 chevy we have left thats six volt converting to twelve volt later generator go on with a little work on your coils the ford coils fired on twelve volt but a resistanse wire was used to the coil to reduce the voltage to 6 to 8 volt so they wouldnt burn up crysler and chevy used a resister block. also use a voltage reducer to your insterments they are designed for six volt. one off a international scout or travelal works great.
