Rough Ride???

Rough Ride???
My '01 Ford Explorer feels very uncontrollable everytime I go over bumps in the road or highway. I wonder what causes this can anybody get me information on this or do I need to replace something. Thanks

If it's a two door, the shorter wheelbase makes for a rougher ride.
Even so, Explorers aren't boulevard cruisers....they're a truck chassis with a modified box fastened to the chassis. Same design as in 1900.

My wife's 99 Ford Exp. Eddie Bauer 5.0 is also rough. These SUV's are and always have been rough riding. I replaced the shocks with some Monroes and it did help some but overall ROUGH.

Everythings relative...I had to get out of the back seat in my daughters 4Runner...it was really rough!

Can wider tires could solve the issues a little, I started feeling this rough ride recently never experience it since I bought it new in 2001. An 2001 Eddie Bauer. Also everytime I come home or stop and park I hear the suspension rise or lowers itself could this be a sign of new shocks.

Sounds likw Automatic Level Control to me.

Hint: let some air out of the tires for a softer ride.
