Karl, the FE and the I6 use the same perches, I am not sure about the front coils.

First off, DIBS is very simple. I called DIBS first, so therefore DIBS is mine. You can find this rule under the SHOTGUN category in the Guy Handbook, Shotgun doesn't have anything to do with distance from the seat or who's faster, it's all about who say it first. This is the same for DIBS. 
Come on man, know your handbook.
And all that taking the motor out of my truck and all sounds like alot of trouble to just look at it. Don't want to hurt your back or mine.
Don't worry, I'll have an empty bed, it won't be hard to look at. Now if that guy would just give me directions, LOL.

With all this interest, maybe I will keep it!
Seriously, this is an old utility truck with god knows how many miles and I want to get it to a point where I can drive it around town on my many errands. The transmission has been slipping out of gear and I am not real happy with the 4 barrel carb, rebuilt once and replaced once.
I had a straight six in an old Maverick years ago and just wondered if this is a good option and the swapping can be done with a minimum of fuss. Karl is close by and we can hopefully get together and he can give me the skinny. Will let you know what is decided and if the big block is up for grabs! Rob
