My 2000 Expy Door ajar light will turn on (yes the doors are closed) when driving down the road, along with the buzzer.
The door locks will then lock or unlock on thier own?
Anyone had this problem and if so, what is the fix?
I had the same problem. It was the tailgate. I suggest checking it and the rear window. Open and close all the doors, the tailgate and window. Good luck. It seems dumb-but the same warning might be the tailgate instead of the doors.
Spritz all door latches, the tailgate latch and the tailgate window latch with WD-40. The door ajar system is triggered by the light switches that are incorporated into the latches. The switches can stick, and WD 40 can free them up for awhile.
Am I to understand this correctly....The door pins are located in the actual latches and not seperately on the door panels or columns. I have looked high and low and cannot find them. So all I need to do is to spray the actual latch inside and that should solve the issue.
I have a 98 EB 5.4 eng. I readed about this a few years ago when this happen to me. I used WD-40 and it work. Well it started again this week and no matter what I do the door ajar light comes on and the doors locks with open and close every few feet. Its driving me nuts. What else can I do?

Start a petition? I've lubed them, didn't help, so I changed the switch, didn't help - it is driving me CRAZY. Since it seems to be a very common problem, perhaps Ford should issue a recall and fix it once and for all?
