Ive always been told not to drive it at the same speed, take a road trip and while on the highway go up and down with speed it suppose to seat the piston rings properly. After about 800 miles i had my first oil change to get any break in metal shavings out of there. Some people say drive it the way your going to drive it the rest of its life but i think the first idea makes sense.

My salesguy said run it.. .drive it... whatever... The owners manual actually didn't state a single thing about "Break-in". I personally varied speeds, etc for the 1st 1000 miles.. I did my first oil change was at 971 miles. Oil looked fine... I plan on changing my oil ever 4000 miles, not the 5000 that Ford recommends...
