A couple of weeks ago there was a lot of talk of peoples climate control panels going blank & loss of A/C & heater. Some one said there was a fuse panel under the hood & one of the fuses needed to be pulled & reinstalled to cure this problem.Doses any body know where this thead is I have searched for 4 hours & can`t find it,but I do have the blank panel problem. Thanks for your help.

Mine went blank yesterday with no A/c or heat.

When I got home I checked all the fuses and relays in the fuse block under the dash/ steering column and one must have been loose cause it worked after that.

This TSB is specific to '05 but, I'll bet the '06 fuse box is comparable.

Various Electronic and Driveability Symptoms and Codes:
2005 F-Super Duty trucks built before 5-11-05 may exhibit various electronic-related symptoms due to loose/miss-installed fuses in the engine compartment fuse box. These symptoms may be intermittent. The fuses should be inspected to verify they are installed into the terminals in the fuse box and not along side the terminals.
Fuses--Symptoms
#9, 20 amp: Trailer turn signals inoperative
#10, 10 amp: Check Engine Light; Codes P1633, P0446
#11, 10 amp: Speedo bounce, ABS light, Cruise control inop; Codes U1900, U2023, P0500-P0503
#12, 2 amp: Cruise control inop, TBC Fault displayed, chime; Code C2803
#13, 15 amp: Day time running lamps inop
#15, 15 amp: Crank/no start, bucking, stall; Codes P2614, P2617, P1378
#17, 10 amp: A/C inop or not cooling
#18, 10 amp: Crank/no start, bucking, stall; P2614, P2617, P1378, P0611
#20, 10 amp: Trailer back up lamp inop

All you need to do is turn your headlights on. Somehow it boots the climate control. Try it.

Mine exhibited this same problem for over 5 to 6 months until the day it completely died. The dealer diagnoised and replaced the A/C control head. No problems since that time.

Smile automatic climate control

The first time it went blank all I did was turn off the truck when I got home, a 1/2 hour later I went out & turned the ignition on & everything worked,I called the dealer & they said bring it in when it is not working & they will fix it.Well it happened again yesterday tried the light switch & key off & on several times nothing worked. I finally hit the Auto button & it came back on. No I didn`t accidently turn it off I leave it in Auto all the time. I will show my dealer all of the replies & see what they can do, they are a very good dealer

Thumbs up Auto Climate Control

kw5413
Took the truck to the dealer yesterday, they said that TSB refered to the AC clutch, but they had the same problem with Lincons & had to replace the control head. They called Ford & Ford said they knew that some of the trucks had the problem,so they told my dealer to change the control head ,guess what they had one in stock. So 8.00AM friday they wil fix it.An other case of a good dealership going all the way for a customer.

I like to hear stories of good dealerships. All to often we only hear the horror stories.

They are not all out to screw the consumer.
