is that a trucool4739 or a stock one? confused here, the signature says 4739 but it looks like a stocker to me.

That's a stock 7.3L cooler compared to a 6.0L. Little bit of a difference ehh?
Took about 5 hours to replace it. Had to remove the A/C condenser. The 6.0
cooler fits nicely in place of the 7.3L mini me cooler . Mostly time consuming job. Got some adapters (1/2" to 3/8")from Home Depot. Runnig this cooler with the Trucool 4739 currently. It'll be interesting to see how cool this combo keeps things.

Were you having a problem with the tranny temps with the Trucool/stock 7.3L combo?

Nope. Just wanted to get things even cooler. Got a good price on the 6.0 unit. I may end up selling the Trucool.

PS, I took 4 hrs to do it but that was because I was screwing around with the hoses. I got some 3000 psi hose with steel braiding because that was all they had in half inch so I got some 3/8 too. Had to cut them with a dremmel fibre wheel. Other than that, all I did was move the AC condenser and the lower impact bar for the Excursion. Why did you have to remove the condenser?

I tried not to remove the A/C condenser but found it's in the way and impossible to work around on the F-250. Those fins hack u up pretty good too.
Spent some time looking for missing hardware that fell off the stock unit

I used 1/2" rubber heater hose rated to 260F and adapted it to the stock 3/8"
rubber hose. Bought 4ft. and this was perfect for routing the hose with no kinks.

About 60-80 deg above ambient. 60 if empty 80 if towing 8000#. Before it was about 75 above ambient and 110 above if towing.

I have the 6.o cooler and no need to remove the condensor, just unbolt the right side at the top ( one bolt) this allows the condensor to be pulled forward for more room. The install took me a little over 1 hour and I am really slow! I got a solid 40 degree drop in temps the warmest I have seen since was 160 towing my 8500lb TT in 90 degree ambient.

Forgot to mention i had a Trucool 4739 in the way and had to work around it without damaging it. I looked at every angle and found it was tought to access the two bottom 5/16" nuts easily.

Nice work. I'll be curious to see what your results are when towing, especially with both coolers hooked up.

Thanks JT! I'm thinking
pretty cool under most towing circumstances.

Hey what extra hardwear(nuts, bolts, adapters, ext) do you need to put the 6.0 cooler in? Thanks.
