I own a 2000 F150 4X4 Off Road. I noticed that my air bag light was staying on indicating that it needed serviced. After a few weeeks the light burned out I guess and now I have these series of beeps. When I start the truck up, it beeps five times for five times. There is then a thirty minute break and then it does it again. The Ford dealership said that my Airbag PDF switch needed replaced and that was going to cost me $741. plus tax. Does any body know how I can stop these beeps without taking the dash out and replacing the bulb?
you can get a bulb from radio shack for 1.50 and do it yourself search this forum for air bag and you should find the bulb number and instructions on how its done.
Thanks alot. I took the dash apart which was fairly easy. I got as far as taking out the instrument panel. It seems to be connected by the "transmition gear select cable", I have an automatic transmission. I could not figure out how to disconnect the cable in order to pull the panel out. Does that make sense? Any suggestions?
