Question exhaust question

I read somewhere that putting on a larger exhaust system without changing the intake and using a tuner would create problems with the engine performance. If this is so, then would just putting on a cat back system for appearance and some sound improvement not create this engine problem? If I remember correctly the problem was from not enough back pressure in the exhaust system from the over sized piping. But I may be wrong as I read this in a magazine somewhere! Any comments whether others have found this to be a problem?

I read conflicting stories about this as well. so, I just decided to do the turbo back. I did it a little over a week ago and have noticed a difference. BETTER performance and increased fuel economy. I haven't noticed any engine differences in a negative manner. Hope this helps a little. 05 cc fx4

Delawhere?,

Old wives or should I say old Ford tale. It will only help the truck breath and free up some HP and MPG at the same time. Call us if you have any questions we have all the MBRP and AFE exhaust systems in stock.
