I have a 72 E300..I am tryin' to convert to disc up front. Have all the 73 F250 Parts..(spindles,master cyl, prop valve).Problem is I have power steering (Ford-Thompson type). Looking for the tie rod's that fit and work in my application. The van tie rods go up in the spindle where as the truck's go down. So I don't bother the parts guy to much,, did 73 trucks have the Ford-Thompson power steering system so all I will need is the tie-rods from a 73 ford truck? When I find that out all us "Van" guy's will have our answer's. It all started when I read the tech article on the disc conversion....Thanks

Well..I slept on this one and found out all I had to do is just replace the caliper mounting bracket!!!! It bolted right up! The spindle is the same they even use the same bearings! No need to change the king pin's....

I've got a '70 E300 too, and am interested in a disc conversion:
Can I simply remove the drum stuff, including backing plate & bolt the caliper mounting bracket on in its place and go from there??
proportioning valve & lines are the least of my worries.
can I may be use stuff from a late 80s E350 for this swap??
it sure would be cool to add disc brakes to the front of my van, after just converting to power brakes.
Thanks!! Rick
I have a friend that also has a 1972 E300 called a Camper Special (CH). Would you know where he could get some body parts to restore this van? He's looking for a hood and a back door for the camper.
