Header Wrap

Has anyone wraped the headers on a v-10? I was wondering if the normal improvments would occur.... cooler engine bay for cooler intake temps?

I tried header wrapping once. Never again. I would think that if you were to get some good headers, it won't be necessary.

I always thought that wrapping headers on a street vehicle can lead to increased corrosion. But I'm no expert!

Headers in general usually create less heat in the engine compartment when cruising anyway, right? Due to their ability to move gasses faster.

And aren't you taking air from the outside of your engine compartment or did you do one of those aftermarket "suck-the-hot-underhood-air-in" mods?

You might want to check with the maker of the header in question because most of them will not warranty their headers if you wrap them. You are probably better off in the long run sending them off to Jet Hot(www.jet-hot.com) or someone similar to have them ceramic coated. you get the same effect as far as lower engine bay temps and better exhaust flow and it does away with corrosion problem.
