Unhappy oil pressure problems

Got a 1980 Bronco with a 460 in it. It has an off the block oil filter. The problem that I am having is when you change the oil and put a new filter on it the motor will have no oil pressure. Have taken the oil lines and fittings off the motor and it all looks real good and the lines flow easy. Now if you pull the filter back off and poke a screw driver in all the out holes it works just fine. Thought it may have been a bad filter but it has done this now to three different filters. I am running the same filter on my 66 Ford truck and it has plenty of pressure. In fact they came off the same shelf from the store. Does anyone have any ideas on what is going on? Please help.

what filter are you using. do you pour about half a quart in the filter before screwing it on?

i'm not sure if this would matter, but which way does the oil run in the lines. (could it be running backwards) Maybe theirs a check valve.

Like Kem said.....you need to put some oil in the filter.......and I know for my money I will stick with the Motorcraft FL1A oil filters.....I been hearing way too many horror stories about Fram and some other brands.
