Does anyone have this problem? You push the accelerator nothing happens you push it a little more and then your off to the races. It seems like there is a dead space in the accl. My F-150 accl. is smooth as silk but if I'm not careful in my exp. I'm gonna have a accident. So brings me to the question are they all like this or does this thing need to go to the dealership to get some adjustment? Oh I guess I need to mention I have an (04 Exporer XLT 4X4 4.0 SOHC)

Seems like I read something here (you'll have to do a search) about the cable down at the gas pedal. I don't recall the details.

Also, I'd remove the cable at the throttle-body and see if the TB moves smoothly without the cable. Sounds like you have something sticking.

Sounds like the Throttle Positioning Sensor, it is on the Intake Manifold.

Do you regularly clean the throttle valve thoroughly?
