New Guy

Just poppin in to say hello to my new found friends! I am a recent convert to diesel and lovin it so far. I recently acquired a lifted 94' F-350 4X4 with an IDI turbo diesel. Since I am a newbie I look forward to any and all assistance and recommendations I get here. I scanned all I could before my purchase and wasn't scared off so now I join you with Blue Oval Pride!

Alot has already been done to my truck by PO's. Bought it off a lot so history is unknown any red flags for 94' IDI Turbos that I migh have missed?

I've been poking around a bit but since I am COMPLETELY new to diesels, all the info that comes back is a little ovewhealming. I can kill hours just reading posts, not really a bad thing except to my wife ! Is there any type of computer mods for a pre Powerstroke diesel? I have a decent amount of power already, especially since I am turning 36" tires. The regearing is doing alot but just like any power hungry Ford man....I want MORE!! Plus when I do a search on my year, I get halfway through a good tech tip only to find out it is for a Powerstroke..GRRRR. 94' pops up on both DI and IDI info sheets so I guess I'll have to treat it like a dirty mag.....scan for the good parts! er...I mean articles.

Being a 94, there was both engines available, the IDI was the 1st half of the year, the powerstroke the second half. No computers for the motor on the IDI motors, it's all mechanically controlled.Check out the pre-pow4erstoke forum, and you will get all the answers you seek, including turning up the pump, exhaust and intake mods and the like...
