Ford Mo. Co just announced effective Thursday June 1 it would offer 0% financing on almost all off its vehicles an give buyers $1,000 toward gasoline purchases as part off its most aggressive sales incentive program off the year.
Drive on Us discount program which begins Thursday an runs through July.customers would be given a prepaid debit card for $1,000 off gas purchases or an equvilent on the vehicle purchase price.
This applies to some off Fords most popular vehicles including the Fusion an top selling F-150 pickupwhich are also backed by an additional $2500.00 cash discount.
Analyst at Edmunds, com described the program as one off the most generous programs in a long time.
Man it looks like it maybe time to buy a new Ford.
The bottom line? Incentive results are the same vs the previous incentives on the F-150. Just some "shuffling" in the numbers/wording. They better do better than that with May truck sales DOWN 6.6%.
Nope its better $1000.00 off free gas. Sounds a lot better to me. On new Expeditions you can get a total off $13,000 off the list prices. This looks better then last years employee pricing plan an so far Ford is the only automaker offering it.
I guess I just don't understand. This is for area code 64081
So there is a stand alone rebate of $2500 and a rebate called Drive on us bonus cash alternative $1000. So is the Drive on us bonus cash the gas card? If it is, then rebates "technically" have stayed the same.
So this is what I am hoping for:
Standard Rebate: $2500
Drive on Us Rebate: $1000
Gas Card: $1,000
Total of $4500
But I have a feeling it is more like this
Standard Rebate: $2500
Drive on us rebate or gas card: $1000
I think you are correct. It is just a marketing ploy in my opinion. To some people $1000 worth of gas somehow seems better than a $1000 cash rebate??? I did read on the Ford site that on certain vehicles you get a $1100 gas card.
Well the difference is, like Polar said in another post, you can't use a gas card toward the downpayment. So it actually means the cash out of pocket or the finance amount go up, one or the other. Then again, it won't take long to spend $1k on gas, especially in a truck.
The $ 1,000 gas card also spreads out this "rebate" over an unspecified period of time instead of an immediate hit on cash flow. Unless it is being funded to a third party, that may be administering the fuel card, at point of sale.
