E4OD Problem

Just had a new problem with my 97 PSD. I plugged the block heater in for a cool night at about 9800 ft altitude. The next morning I looked under the truck and about a quart of tranny fluid had leaked out from the front of the tranny. Could the front pump seal have gone?
I have been looking to rebuild the tranny due to slippage and would like a copy of the zipfile that I have seen talked about in the forum. Thanks!!

Best thing to do to find the leak is clean it off fully. Then start and drive a short distance. Check it. If it is not obvious where the leak is you may have to do the same thing when first noticed the leak. There is a spray talcom powder that is great for finding the source of an oil leak.

The front seals on the E4OD tranny's are famous for just going out. It's an expensive fix and if it's time anyway, you're better off just spending the money for the labor once and having the rebuild done now. I had 122k on mine and just had the same problem. I got all the new Ford upgrades as well as some other mods for right around $3000. Not cheap upfront but I figure if I keep it clean, cool, and flushed on a regular basis and can get another 100k out of that $3000, I did allright...my 2 cents.
