RBW hitch pros/cons

I'm new to 5th wheeling and I just bought a second hand Kit Road Ranger. I got an RBW UHS-88-15-S hitch as part of the deal and was wondering what are the pros and cons of this hitch. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Tom.

I guess nobody has any opinions on RBW hitches.

Hitch

Hey,
I have a Lil'Rocker RBW hitch and have no problems with it. Have had it since 97 when I bought my first 5th wheel. Had one small problem when I started the porpose thing in Kentucky. It broke one of the bolts on the pivot point. One new grade 8 and good to go.

I too purchased a used 5th wheel and RBW hittch in 98. Installed the hitch in my 97 f250 and enjoyed many summer vacations with no problems. Hitch latching is positive and I feel comfortable having a solid steel latch behind the king pin, (instead of two jaws). In 2004 I purchased a new bigger 5th, (10,000lb) and continued using my RBW hitch. Last Sept. with 200k on my F250 I cracked the block so I purchased a new SD. The only reason why I purchased a new hitch, (RBW) to install was because I kept my old F250, (With new motorcraft engine) to pull short local trips. In conclusion, I am still getting great service from my 1984 RBW Hitch!

I have had the same hitch you are looking at for nearly 10 years and have had it installed in 4 differant trucks. I have had to replace the rails once as they started torus a little too much and made sliding the hitch a pain in the ????. But hitching up and unhooking are a breeze and you know it's hooked up when the bar slides across.

Thanks guys. I've towed with it a couple of times already and, once you figure out how to hitch and un-hitch, it is very easy to use and I like the solid steel bar across the kingpin.
