well, this time of year is really hurting the body shops, especially since the mild winter we had. its soo slow right now i can barely put in a full day at work.
last pay cheque wasnt so great and i can see the upcoming months not so good either, but then again, i get to take off to the beach or come home and work on some of my own vehicles!
That's always a problem. I'm scheduled for 2 overtime shifts this summer which is pretty sparce, but on the other hand, I have most of my summer free. Besides my regular shifts that is.
How long have you been at the body shop?
Yesterday I asked at my favorite body shop that does mostly restorations and they are months behind. I would like to get my 67 Mustang redone and possibly the 65 as well, it will be a while.
yeeaah it sucks, cant really do much about it so you kinda have to try and enjoy the slackness of it haha.
restoration shops will always be behind... i used to work at one, very little sgi work since it wasnt busy enough and lots of resto work.. i got laid off from them because resto jobs take a long time and dont pay well enough.
ive been at this particular shop for about 7 months... its permanent tho, big dealerships dont do lay offs, so unless i quit or get fired ill be here for a while! better than bouncing around body shops...
