Burning/Break-in smell
I have a 2006 6.0 crew cab 4x4 with 3,700 miles. When I get out of the truck I often smell a buring/brake smell when exiting. You can not smell it in the cab. Is this normal? It doesn't matter if I brake hard or not when stopping. The smell is the same. I do not always notice the smell. I love this truck.

With this many miles everything should be seated in. Could be a brake is not completely releasing. I would take it in and let them tear into it to be safe.

Smells like burning tires???? My 06 350 with 1000 miles has the burning rubber smell at idle when hot since I brought it home three weeks ago. Dealer says it will burn off, getting less and less as the miles go by. Still have to turn on the recir.... when I lift the hood, smells like it is coming from the radiator hose....but 3500 is a lot for new burn off smell.
