If they did have a coupe version, I would go for it. I just don't like the chassis flex of a convertible.
Most sport convertibles have the frame reinforced to reduce flex. The original Miatas handled well but did indicate some flex on rough surfaces, but improvements made in 2001 virtually eliminated flex and shake. Go for it.
How are the new MX-5s holding up? A nice little sports car might be needed once I get the lift on the Subaru. I'm getting kinda spoiled by tight suspension, quick handling, and rear wheel drive.
