The ghost flames are still in the air I'm trying to figure something out on the paint job i don't just want a white truck. As for the body lift you can't tell other than the reciver hitch being a little lower than the bumper.

Since you will be putting a solid axle in a year or so, wait to lift it then(save yourself some cash)and then put you some 35" Grips; BFG or somthing like that since you don't wheel it to to often and have a great looking truck that is pretty capable off road.

Just my opinion, but $800!!! for ghost flames.
That might be a good price for ghost flames, but for a TRUCK $800 could go into a ARB front air locker and a solid axle.

options galore

It seems to me you have experience with trucks already, and you seem to know which way you want to go. It is your ride and go for it the way you see fit.
I do feel that extreme mods should take place AFTER the truck is PAID OFF.
That way if one runs into financial problems, the bank will not get your mods (plus the truck is only worth blue book) and the truck is the most sale worthy, in stock form, if you need to sell it (you keep more of your cash).
The trucks FoMoCo is putting out these days are less truck than before, and I am bummed about that. Next to the high price tags and softend gear, Why should we bother with the new rides.
I am just jealous of people who can drive these new trucks(grocery getters) while I have to wrench on my old iron. (99 ranger and 96 bronco, can't beat these rides!)
enough of my crying for now, I would wait till it's paid off, and work on the running gear(remember the days of sleepers) bigger tires and the proper gearing- I know you guys out there will help him with ratios....
as far as looks- try doing a body wrap- you are not stuck with the theme and if you damage the wrap, you can order the missing section! ghost flames and all!

yep thats some real old iron there. try a 78 bronco?

oh and to the other guy, nobodys gonna be impressed with a body lift, much less a 3" one. if your 150 can handle the 13" lift and 44s, tell me where i can get one like it!

im kinda doubting the lifted riced out dodge with go-fast stickers on it, the ads and names on it dont correspond to a daily driver and it sure made a heck of a transformation from the 1st picture to the second picture.

the dually was the daily driver and the other was my pullin' truck NOT street legal... the dually was a cummins and got about 15 mpg with close to 750 hp and about 1500 ft/lbs of torque! So don't doubt the "go fast" stickers and before you knock the truck we donated all our winnings each year to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.

I have been ignoring this thread but guess it's time to chime in.
What would I do, well thats easy, I would take the body off put it on an older frame with solid axles sell the engine in evilbay, and shove the biggest baddest stroker big block I could afford to build under the hood. simple really.

[QUOTE=slash31938]yep thats some real old iron there. try a 78 bronco?

was it in 1980 that FORD switch to the up to 1996 TTB etc. 4X4 platform?
My point is that the older type hardware provided a truck like manner vs. the carlike engineering of today.
I remember driving a 1978 f-150 4x4 with solid front axle, and I wish that my 1988 f-150 4x4 handled the same way.
So props to you and your 78 bronco, I hope to pick up a '79 someday.
sorry for straying off the thread.
To each his own.

Ride, what ride? The front suspension in my diesel, I'm pretty sure it's all just in the tires... LOL
I can drive the front up on a rock, et al, and totally flex out the rear, with the front not having moved from it's static position on level ground...

ive never driven up on a rock or anything, but its got the plow package on the front end, look at the truck in my profile, thats all springs, no blocks or drop hangers anywhere, just straight stock suspension.
