Before you guys say anything I know that 44 gallons is a lot. But if I or anyone else wanted to, is there a company that any of you know about that sells replacement fuel tanks that are a higher capacity than stock? I did a quick search on fte and on google and couldn't find anything for the Excursion only for the SD and Econoline. Any ideas?
If you find something, please post it. I just got back from a weekend of driving and with most bio-diesel outlets in Illinois closed on Monday a bigger tank would have really helped. So yes, 44 gallons isn't always enough.
rapparts a seller on Ebay creates custom heavy duty fuel tanks for trucks etc..least i think its her, might be midorimeadows either way contacting her will result in getting the info you are requesting
sharon worked there for years she says call the number ask to talk to vicki and say that sharon refered you...they were working on somthing at the time she left for a different company
my guess is a tank would be $700 + but you are talking about a heavy duty tank that you cant damage..these things support the weight of several trucks
in short if you really want this ...its your best hope to get it..maybe work out a group buy or somthing
sounds good thanks. $700 is understandable, just when you get into doing one-off production custom fab I bet it go into the thousands....we'll give it a try. thanks
np its the opnly place "i know of" that can/will do it i thought there were a few people here interested.
I mean if you can get some others to commit then you brings the price down, also if you talk to vicki and convince her that there is a market for these things as a smart bussenss person she likly would create them
i am stupid and know nothing but seems to me that the excursion and the super duty 350 should have simualr tanks and places to put them...
