I am pulling the AIH to put in my boost guage and it came with the wire to help prevent the code from tripping: http://www.puredieselpower.com/catal...roducts_id=109
Where does this wire attach to? The directions don't mention it?? I pulled the hot (RED) wire off the solenoid and now there is a black wire still at the AIH, what does that attach to?
The AIH code eliminator replaces the red wire to the AIH. Connect it to the post on the solenoid that the red wire came from and the other end to ground. The black AIH wire was a ground wire and can be removed.
So (stupid question) I can attach the AIH code eliminator which is obviosly a 1/4 watt resistor) to the black wire that came off the AIH and the post on the solenoid where the red wire was?
BTW, Thanks Guzzle for your pics on the BTS VB as I finished that this morning and am now putting on the guages so I can call Jody tomorrow!!
That would work but it would be a cleaner install if you removed the black wire from the bolt on the drivers side head and attached the eliminator to a more convienent ground. The mounting bolts for the GP or AIH solenoids would work.
