I can't imagine it's related but my otherwise stone reliable 92 E250 5.8 cranks, has fuel pressure but no spark after I installed R-12 to R-134 retrofit valves and added 13oz of refrigerant. I did notice the blower fan would shut off when I turned it to Max A/C, until the refrigerant was in. Shut off, restart and the fan would reset or something. Check all fuses and connectors near low pressure A/C valve.
I thought maybe the surge in amperage from the blower shutting off had an effect on the EEC? I tried to pull the codes but like a dope disconnected the battery 10 minutes before so nothing was stored or displayed.
I checked all the fuses & relays in the power distribution box and under the dash. All the ones related to ignition or A/C. I didn't check the tail lights for example. Got a shop manual on CD-ROM, PCED & EVTM for it which starts with TPS check. I got 0v at the TPS. Too hard to reach the Ign coil ground so I 'm trying to find a cheap breakout box to keep diagnosing.
No spark at the high tension lead. Distributor rotor turns so timing chain is OK. I'm assuming distirbutor runs off cam and not crank on the 5.8
Basically I popped something electrical but I don't know what. Is there a simple way to test the PCM?
