As for a touching story that happened yesterday at a local VFW taverns Memorial Day get together. A 40 something gentleman comes up to us and asks us to do him a favor for his uncle. We obliged and he pulls out a medal that he wants us to present to the man, who on 06 June 1944, landed on Omaha Beach and lived to tell about it. You cannot sum it up into words on how to describe an 88 year old man with his eyes swelling up into tears because a group of veterans got together to bestow that great honor upon him. I can say I held my head up a little higher after that! So thank you to all my fellow veterans out there, and God bless those who never made it home.
