Big thing with an EW is to be sure you build it strong and heavy enough. There is a tremendous amount of side to side pressure and keeping the rollers precisely aligned is critical. Even benchtop ones need to be built out of at least 2x4" tubing and filled with sand to keep for vibrating. One of the best ones I've seen used a tailstock screw and handwheel from a large lathe for the pressure adjuster.
