Truck Vandalized

Yeah so tonight i was over at my girl friends house and we went for a walk and when we came back the truck was fine. Her grandparents pulled in because her brother just graduated and they were spending the night. We then went into her house for a little while. Then when i came outside to leave and go home i noticed there were little bits of glass on my drivers side door seat. Then i looked for where they had come from and noticed that my windshield was cracked and bulging inward. So then i went back to their house. Her mother called the cops, but they dont come out for something like this. Her father found the projectile used... it was a rock. Luckly i have my disposable camera in the glove compartment and took pictures there, and when i got home i took these pictures.

I don't know why people have to be such *** holes to people they don't know. First off they run the risk of doing something like this to someone that may physically harm them, if i would have saw them do this i would have probably went off the deep end because of the situation. I was pissed. Sorry for venting, but this really angers me. Someone also took a hammer and hit the side of my truck in the school parking lot, or i think they did.

Man that's messed up. Somebody busted my driver's side window to get into my truck at my house, several months after it was broken into at the high school one day. Hasn't been touched since, she's been upgraded.

The dent actually doesn't strike me as a hammer because of the tool marks, since a hammer face is usually fairly flat, and there are many parallel lines on that dent.

Add some pictures during the day if you get the chance, easier to see. How much is a new windshield going to run you? My driver's side window was $170 by itself. eh...and now I gotta get all my windows retinted.

What really irritates me is your cops don't come out for that kinda stuff? What kinda crap is that?

They probably threw the rock at it twice, that's what the dent looks like. You might want to look into paintless dent removal. It's a helluva lot cheaper than having your truck repainted, not to mention quicker. I live in an apartment complex, and I worry about that stuff all the time. The one I live in is one of the better ones in town because I would rather pay the extra rent to have less worry about my property. It really pisses me off to see people do things like that. They have nothing better to do than to damage people's stuff with no consideration for how it makes that person feel.

Don't worry, they will get theirs.

Although unfortunate, a call to your insurance agent along with the deductible will correct the damage.

Yeah ill post another picture of the dent in the side of the truck when i get back in town. It definately could not have been caused by a car door though becuase the car was a smaller one that i park next to and the place where it is does not make logical sense to be a car ding. The dent is right above where the truck comes in, so the area affected would not be the area that would take the hit, it would have been lower.

I think im gonna skip the insurance company. I have a $1000 deductible, so finding the windshield in a junk yard would be cheaper i think. Plus turning it into insurance might make my rates go up.

I agree with how the police should come out and at least check other peoples cars to see if they are damaged also. They could have also put a cop patrolling the area to make sure nothing else happens. But they couldn't do anything coming out to the scene other than look at the truck, so it would be a waste of time for them.

Thanks for letting me vent, i dont understand why some stupid teens need to go destroying others property. Now i am going to be in debt even more, i owe my older brother $500 and my mom $100. So now it looks like ill be working all summer just to pay off debt . I was hoping to start modding my trucks but i guess not.

That sucks, I belive only a pu##y would do something like that. The same thing happend to me at my ex-girlfriends work by her ex-boyfriend only he used a baseball bat on my F-150. I was so pissed, I did return the favor with a baseball bat in a more manly way (I did not touch his truck only because it was a Ranger) he spent the evening in the er and had to get his grill fixed. I spent the next 2 days in jail, was it worth it to me? no, but he will probly never f with anyones truck again...JPC

I was at the high school earlier this year, had my mom's Silverado because we were movin' some stuff in ROTC and needed a lot of carrying space. My best friend's ex boyfriend was yelling at her after school so I went over there and went off on the kid (freshmen), he walked away.

'bout five minutes later I see him walking over towards the Silverado with a book (guess it was the heaviest thing he could find). I shoulda just let him hit it, his forehead left a much bigger dent that than book would ever have.

But he hasn't bothered her or me since then!

Im glad you like that RP ,the funny thing is that its the truth. However I dont want to steal speedy's thunder I know what its like to have your property mistreated . They accually have a ranger windshield special down the street from my work $149. Beats paying a deductable and messing around with your insurance Co.

You might be plesantly surprised to find out just how cheap a new one (installed) is. Maybe $250 - $300. Hell, they cost this much and more 25 years ago.

Quite the contrary to that not being a hammer on his truck. I have a framing hammer that has tool marks on the head of it. It's 20oz with a 16" long hickory handle on it. It will wear you out when you swing it for a couple of hours. This hammer could produce very similar marks to what is found on his truck.I guess I endured a sort of vandalism once. I was away on a football trip and I left my '85 full size Chevy at the school. The knocked out the two windows on the drivers side. The rear had factory tint in it. That was not very pleasant. The idiots left my brand new TI-84+ Silver Edition calculator (which had just been released), my Fossil watch, and my Banana Republic cashmere sweater. Totalling somewhere around $300 worth of stuff they could've had, they took only the change that was in my ashtray totalling ~$3 and ~$70 for two salvage windows. I swear the stupidity of some ppl is amazing.

It's sick that someone will trash another person's property, period. Even worse they will do it with no remorse. What really irritates me is when they break a window or something, then just leave. Don't even steal anything, just screw the truck up for the hell of it. That's downright disgusting.
