It seems to me that whenever I get my truck looking or running ok I get hit with a new problem, only this time i got hit twice.
First I need to get a new grill and light assembly for my 69 F100 the old one just can't hold up any more the bubleum and bailing wire hust don't work any more. I have looked in all the junk yards and no luck. I even looked in J.C. Witney and LMC truck catalog. no luck there,
Now for the hope I hace considered using a grill and light assembly from a 70 or 71 year f150. will this work?????:+
Now for Part 2 of this little problem.
does anybody make aftermarket wire harnests for the same truck, I seemed to have a problem. No brake lights, turn signals, or emergency lights. I have not looked in andy of the usually catalogs but I hope to find one soon.:-X11
I don't know whether a 70+ grille will fit on a 69, but I suspect it will. It would be a shame, though, because the 67-69 grilles are far more attractive IMNSHO. I also happen to know where you can get a good used '69 Ranger grille minus the Ranger emblem (but that can be purchased in repro). Email me for details.
Nobody that I know of makes repro wiring harnesses for 67-72 Ford trucks. Painless Wiring and a few other companies make universal harnesses that you could adapt, but that's a lot of money and expense. One of their harnesses is $300-400, I think, and the wires are coded to GM standards.
It would be much easier and less expensive in the long run to trace the problems in your existing harness and repair them. It doesn't sound like they're that severe and all relate to your lighting. Post the details of what is and isn't working and when, and we'll help you diagnose and repair the problems.
The 70-72 grills will interchange with the 67-69 grills, they aren't identical in bolt pattern, but it's very close and there's enough to hold them fine. But the 70-72 won't be orginal or look as good, IMHO. If you look around I feel certain you could find a 69 grill. I know where to get a few, and if you're willing to put out a little money there are plenty of places online. Here for one. Good luck.
Do you know the condition of the grill and what is the cost.
also I tracked the problem to the turn signal switch, parts on the way. as for the grill I am also in need of the part that is just below the grill and behind the bumper, do you know what this part is called. let me know at my personal E-mail

Hey JD could you post a few links to some of those places that have grills. I have a 71 but am looking for an earlier piece. As I also thin they look better.
Well there is no site for the grills. I just know of a few junk trucks with good grills on them and I feel pretty certain I can pick up the whole trucks for a couple hundred a piece. But I got to get the money first. So once all that happens and I get me a good grill or two, I might sell whatever other grills and parts I can spare. One day, one day.....
I had the exact same prob with my 68 f100.. I ended up rewiring the brakes and I redid the turn sig lights to an extent. when u find a 68 grill (NEW) let me know that is all I need to show quality! If you find a new wiring harness let me know as well. hapyy hunting
