Ok like the title says I have a XLS 05 expedition right now I'm wanting to do a few upgrades to it and don't know if it's possible. Please help me out if you can, thank you.

1) I want to change the factory radio, is there any problems in doing this (i.e. will something else stop working if factory radio is not installed)?

2) The car has a factory alarm, I'm assuming as I use a factory key FOB to activate it. When I click the lock button it beeps three times realy loud, and when I unlock it I get the same thing. Is this normal? Is there anyway to change this? Also it is very sensitive and with kids it goes off whenever they even approach the car, so is there anyway to change the sensitivity?

3) I want to add fog lamps to the vehicle and don't know if this is possible? I see wiring near where the fog lamps would go in on both sides. Is that for the fog lamps? How would I go about turning them on and off if I installed them using this area.

4) Are the running boards on this car supposed to be lighted?

5) I'm about to get some new rims for the car and need to know what the wheel sizes and lug patterns that will fit my car. For instance will 22's fit 20's.

Your help and quick answers are appreciated.

OK, here goes:

1. No problems with changing the factory radio, in fact you will notice an increase in volume, since most aftermarket radios have a little more watts per channel. Just make sure you get the wiring harness and the installation plastic kit.

2. I know on my 03, which is almost the same thing. When I click the FOB, it does'nt click or ring three times. You might want to get it checked, and before you do, ensure the back hatch window is closed. It will beep differently if it is not shut.

3. Adding anything to your truck or SUV is possible, with money and time of course. I beleive that on a friend of mine, there were pre-existing wiring, but he had to buy the switch,because his stock light switch did not have the fog light selector. But the wires were there.

4. My running boards do not light up and I would not purchase the ones that do either. The running boards are exposed to everything and the lights go bad shortly, besides they are useless IMHO.

5. Your lug pattern is 6-135mm, you can put anything on it you want. I personally have 20'' on mine and get a smooth ride. 22'' will fit, you just get a lower profile tire. I suggest when purchasing tires, to get the widest thing you can find. I've got 295's on mine, but wished I would have gotten the 305's.

Thank you very very much for your reply. I've looked into the information that I received with the car and happened upon the alarm system info. It is a Karr security upgrade system and apparently since I have Illumindated Entry it beeps 3 times when arming the system then one time when the lights in the car turn off. So I guess that's normal, it gives directions to turn off the horn but it only works once, then it goes back to beeping, when I tried it tonight. So oh well guess I can live with that.

If anyone knows what type of switch it is that I need in order to get the fog lights to work I would really appreciate it, I have searched on eBAY but don't know which ones work and which ones don't.

Think I've found some good running boards, so I'm going to try those out. As for the tires I'm looking into some 20's but I don't know if I'm going to go with those or some really nice 18's.
