Any Help With Steering Box Seals???

Really need seals and gaskets for a 76 F-250 4x4 steering box. Parts stores have no listing for this box and the seals are nothing the local seal house can seam to match up. Anybody have any ideas where I can buy the parts??? Thanks.

I have a 78 F-150 4x4 and was able to buy both a upper and lower steering box overhaul kit from NAPA. It included seals, bushings, spacers and a lock ring. It was an easy job once you get the box out and the pitman arm off. If you are just doing the lower part you do not even have to remove the box. Good luck

Thanks Dennis, I'll try searching with that. Nope, NAPA has absolutely no listing for the highboy steering box. They list every other box in the world, but the F-250 4x4 doesn't exist according to them.

Average250, Do you know the manufacturer of your steering box? Is it a Ford, Bendix, Saginaw or Ross?

Hey Dennis, My power assist stuff works great, parts are easy to find for that stuff, all the internal seals have numbers and simple to work on.

The manual steering box is what I need parts for. Davee, the box is a ROSS box. It's in imaculate perfect shape inside, but it was a greasy rustball so I tore into it and tanked and blasted the housing and now I can't find the seals and gaskets needed to put it back together. The Ross box is actually off an early 77 F-250 4x4, I just say 76 so there's no confusion about what style of box it is. After dealing with the parts stores where thier computers automatically assume you have a 77.5 part when you say 77 I just say 76 to avoid confusion. Thanks.
