fuel pump ?
just bought a 89 bronco it has 2 fuel pumps ( 1 in the tank- 1 on the frame ) i have an 89 mercury it only has 1 fuel pump (in the tank) both have 302s in them both have automatic transmissions why does the bronco need 2

The one in the tank is a low pressure lift pump and the one on the frame rail is a high pressure delivery pump. The Bronco has a 32 GAL tank which is pretty deep, it also means that Ford did not have to design the entire fuel system to withstand high pressures.
