air bag replacement
Hi everyone. I have a '95 ranger reg cab, 4x4, 4cyl. 2 years ago i was haveing abs problems and while in a parking lot i was unable to brake and rolled inot a building deploing my airbag. pissed me off pretty good too, i had just a few months earlier replace the clock spring if i hadnt done that the bag wouldnt have deployed. anyway, i cut out the air bag and drove home. I disconnected the air bag and replaced it with one from a mercury vehicle i got from a junk yard. didnt plug it in though, just something to fill the hole in my steering wheel. I have finally decieded to fix it and have bought a replacement air bag and module. I want to know what i need to do to get this back together. right now, my air bag light doesnt light up at all, ill check to see if its burned out later. i have a beeping thing that cycles 5 beeps 5 times on start up and sometimes randomely while driving. is this the old module?? i have read on here that the module had to be replaced, thats why i bought the airbag and module. Will i have to replace the crash sencers that are mounted to the radiator support up front?? or do i just plug all the replacements in and all is well? any help would be appreciated. thanks.
