Has anyone bought or made a laptop mount for their truck. I have a '99 F-250 supercab superduty XLT 7.3 diesel with 40-20-40 split seats (and the center arm rest that folds up). I am seeing lots of them online, but I would like to know if anyone has had one and how they like it. I would like to get one that I would not have to drill to use and could still have three people in the front seat (easily move or remove the mount).
hey, i havent made one but my grandpa did. ( i kinda helped him). He mad an aluminum tube frame that would bend in a 2 or 3 places, and a a base plate that stays in his truck. some how he has it were he can take it in and out. The top is some kind of black or brown plexiglass with a lip on hte end so the laptop wont slide, along with a strap from one end to the other. Under this, he has a usb, and a cigarette 3 way thing mounted, very nice i htink.

Behin the back seat of his truck he has a power inverter, and has an extension cord (like on a christmas tree/ christmas decorations) that has two 3 way plugins. he controls the on/off by a remote control. Now this is the neat part.
The remote can work from like 300ft or more ( along ways) he has it to were each button does somethin (4 buttons total) press once on, press again it goes off. He Has his KC's in one spot, his laptop in one, and high idle for a third... He uses this cause hes a vol. firefighter so he can light up a seen, and not drain his batteries... etc.
made one out of plywood and a boat seat swivel mount. Straps in to the middle with the console in the down position. You can position the computer for passenger or driver use. Used foam rubber as a vibration/bump isolator. I have my GPS interfaced with my laptop and use them for finding my way around unfamiliar areas when travelling.
