Not sure if this is right spot, but ... I have a 78 F-350 SRW with a 460/auto. Newly returned to road. Not much experience driving prior to replacing master cyl. and booster. When braking, and not every time, it ends up surging as I'm coming to a stop and after stopping. If it would do it every time, I would lean to a vacumn leak, but it will do it 1 in 5 stops or so. After stalling, it fires up in under 1 rev of the engine. Anyone? Anyone? Anyone
I just finished up a fresh rebuilt 88 with fuel injection in a 64. Last week i moved the truck forward a foot in the garage and it surged with the bakes on pinning my son between the truck and our tool cabinets. Possible similarities as i used a 78 rebuilt brake booster in the build....
My truck just increased in RPM, it did not stall but it was enough to overpower the brakes and pushed forward with the brakes being pushed on with all i had.
Surge is just that. A decrease in RPM, normal, decrease, normal. In 20 mins of stop and go driving to and from work, it acted up once. a quick slap on the gear shift(auto) to N and it went away in 10 seconds. ? ?? ???
