I'm not 100% certain on the 300, but all the other truck engines seem to get a 0.042"-0.046" gap. I always gap them to the lower limit (0.042"), so that as they are used (and open up) they will stay in spec longer. Try looking under the hood, too--there should be a label there with the gap listed, among other things.

Pssst...I think you mean 0.044"--0.44" would be one heck of a spark! All the Ford emissions labels I've seen under the hood have given a range, not just one number. The one you gave is in the dead center of the range I posted.
