i dont mind replacing anything that needs to be replacing, im planning on taking out the third member to fix the small leak it has and to check to make sure nothing is damaged or screwed up in any way. also, for some ghey reason, the 4 wheel drive didnt want to engage. i locked in both hubs, the x-case shifter was real loose, but i figured i could still get it into 4 wheel drive to get home, but i couldnt get the x-case shifter to engage any gears. it had a lot of play in it, and i havnt used the 4 wheel drive yet, so i dont know about it.
ok i just went out and looked at it and the actual x-shaped u-joint is not broken, but the little caps with the bearings and junk on the tips are gone where it joins up to the yoke. does that count as a actual broken u-joint, or is that something else?
thanks pro, ill look into what spicer has. isnt dana-spicer the same deal?
its technically not broken, i would say broken due to lack of maintenance or neglect
i just bought the thing about 2 weeks ago or so, and its already needed a new carb, starter and battery. not too bad, but the PO definitly didnt know much about cars. that being said your right kubota, but its still undrivable, so i kinda consider it broken in my dumb redneck logic.

true 'dat.
when I replaced the ujoints on my beater, the prev owner let them get so bad the cross chewed the whole way through the cap, and was getting ready to start on the driveshaft.
