I could lie and say someone else did it, but it was all my fault. I'm going through a 1996 4X4, 3.0 liter, with auto hubs, for my middle son, and I damaged the wheel bearing retaining nut. I don't feel good about using it. I live in the boondocks in Wyoming and have exhausted the local resources. Ford says they don't make/handle the part anymore. Heck its only a 10 or 11 year old truck. Anybody have one, or an excellent salvage yard that they can recommend? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, in advance. Ken.
lol, i could go jack one off of my dads truck sitting in the driveway, but i'm not sure he'd appreciate that. Lol. Welcome to FTE by the way. Great scott!!!! I actually might have one sitting around, i converted to manual hubs so i have my auto hubs and wheel bearing nuts just sitting around. Exactly what did you damage on it? Try turning it without taking out the locking pin thing? Let me know exactly what you need and i'll send em for ya.
On edit, I just did an inventory check, i have one locknut (i could probably find the second one if i looked) 2 auto hubs (1 works, 1 doesnt), and the rest of the stuff for them. I didnt see the little pins /bars/keys that keep the locknut from turning, but they might still be there. Just let me know what you need or PM me or something with your address and i'll see if i can send them out for ya.
