Surging Problem

I have a 96 psd with 78,000 miles and I have a problem with it surging after it warms up. It doesent matter if I am driving on freeway or in town but it seems to do it when i am at a constant speed. The surge isnt huge maybe 200 to 400 rpm. the oil has been replaced and fuel filter changed with no help.

The CPS will cause this sometimes, also check the timmerman nut on the IPR, located on the left rear bottom of the HPOP, if it is loose it will cause the oil pressure to the injectors to go up & down. Check your fuel pressure on the FPR at the schrader valve (should be between 40-60 psi stock, anything under 16 will cause injector miss fire).

CPS = Cam position sensor. I don't think the PSD has a Crank sensor.

Do a search for CPS. you will get alot of info on the subject.
