C4AE-A Block make 428?

I've got my eye on a C4AE-A block that has the outer edges cast for 427 cross bolts. Does anyone have experience boring this block?

It looks like the one on ebay item number: 8067282535

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD-...spagenameZWDVW

I'm really wondering if this can be bored to 4.13 to make a 428.

A C4AE-A number really means nothing. It was used on:

352's
427 top oilers
330HD and larger FT truck motors

Your best bet is to measure the existing cylinder bore diameter to see what you've got now, then go to a machine shop and have the cylinder walls sonic tested. That way you'll know exactly how thick the cylinder walls are.

Lot's of 64 blocks have the crossbolt bosses cast into them. As Kurt said could be a 427, 390, 352 or 330 block. Also 406 service blocks used the same casting number. Try the drill bit test on the cyl wall cores.
