2005 F150, SCrew, 5.4 with auto xmission. Sometimes after slowing, then speeding back up, the transmission will do a hard shift/pause. Today, I noticed on 2 separate occasions, I slowed to merge onto a street, and when I accelerated, there was a pause then it shifted hard, like a studder. Thats the first time since I've had it that it has done that-18k miles. No towing as of yet, no peeling out ect. Any suggestions??
Sorry, no suggestions. Only the information that mine has recently started doing the same thing at 12,000 miles. Please post info. if you find out what the problem is. Mine is sometimes very hard.
sounds like it may be normal, lets say you in 3rd gear with the converter locked up, when you slow slightly the converter will disengauge and the trans is not locked to the engine, then when you accel, the trans has to decide what to do, then react, which is downshift, have it reflashed, that may help shifting,
It is "normal" I guess...probably a programming glitch. My '04 has done it since new and now has 93,000 miles and acts up the same as when new. At least it hasn't gotten any worse.
